Lithium iodide tetrachloride, LiICl

Lithium iodide tetrachloride, LiICl4,4H2O, forms yellow, deliquescent needles, melting at 70° to 80° C., and is prepared by the action of chlorine and iodine on a saturated solution of lithium chloride in hydrochloric acid.
