Lithium cyanide, LiCN

Lithium cyanide, LiCN, has not been isolated, but Varet has determined its heat of formation from the hydroxide and hydrocyanic acid:

LiOH,Aq.+HCN,Aq.=LiCN,Aq.+2.925 Cal.

The low value is due to the heat absorbed during the ionization of the weak acid.
