Lithium iodate, LiIO3

The Lithium iodate, LiIO3 is obtained by neutralizing iodic acid with lithium carbonate or hydroxide, the salt crystallizing from aqueous solution in very deliquescent crystals of pearl-like lustre. It is doubtful whether they consist of the anhydrous salt or have the formula LiIO3H2O. At 18° C., 100 grams of water, dissolve 80.3 grams of the anhydrous salt.
